Give Hope a Home: Twin Towers Revitalization in Honor of Sister Rose Wildenhaus
St. Mary Development Corporation is launching a Capital Needs Campaign to renovate and modernize the Twin Towers Resident Community Room. This space is the heart of our affordable living community for low-income older adults, serving as a space where residents gather for social activities, educational programs, and community events.
Unfortunately, the facility is outdated and no longer meets the needs of our residents.
This community space will be rededicated and named Sister Rose Wildenhaus Community Room in honor of our founder, Sister Rose Wildenhaus.
Sr. Rose started resident activities and educational programs at Twin Towers Place and continued running resident activities at Twin well beyond her retirement.
Sister Rose tirelessly gave her time to Twin Towers Place, as it is, the original affordable apartment community built 31 years ago, standing as a beacon of hope for our older adults in Dayton and the surrounding community, making this new space a perfect location to honor her legacy.
The renovation will provide two functional spaces.
A new congregate dining hall and a new activity room with a sound system, video screens, and flexible seating areas.
The Sister Rose Wildenhaus Community Room will allow for a dedicated space to conduct community educational in-services and social programs designed to combat social isolation and loneliness.
This new space offers easy access to participate in activities, presentations, and events.
The new space will make it easier for residents to participate in events and presentations, as well as giving more privacy to residents during events.
This project will allow us to bring more activities to them by creating an inviting space that fosters meaningful interactions and serves as a hub for gatherings, recreational activities, and shared experiences, promoting a sense of belonging.
