Low-income homeowners helped on Rebuilding Day
St. Mary Development employees John Haws (Construction Superintendent) and Ed Wildenhaus (Manager, Physical Plant and Facilities) served as house captains for Rebuilding Together Dayton’s 2008 Rebuilding Day.
John and Ed directed the painting of a house, which was one of 30 homes on which work was completed. Other SMDC staff who helped paint included Ben Haws and Betty Schwab. The average age of homeowners assisted during Rebuilding Day was 72 and their average income less than $14,000 per year. Rebuilding Together Dayton is the only organization in the Miami Valley dedicated to rehabbing owner-occupied homes for low-income homeowners at no cost.
We work toward the day when
all residents of southwest Ohio -- especially the economically disadvantaged -- have a decent, affordable
place to live and become part of a thriving community.
